Temporary Protected Status

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian Nationals

The Legal Aid Society is offering free assistance with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) applications for members of the Palm Beach County Haitian community. TPS allows for beneficiaries to remain in the United States and legally work for a set time period until they can safely return home.

To qualify for assistance, individuals must:

  • Reside in Palm Beach County
  • Be a national of Haiti
  • Have continuously resided in the United States since January 12, 2010 
  • Not have income exceeding 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines

The six-month TPS registration period began on January 21, 2010, and continues through July 20, 2010. For more information on TPS eligibility, please click here.
