Class Action & Attorney's Fees Project
This project provides legal representation in matters of local, regional or statewide significance that require the filing of class actions on behalf of low-income individuals. In addition, cases involving matters in which significant attorney's fees are recoverable are handled for eligible clients residing in South Central Florida.
Non-Profit Legal Assistance Project
This project provides in-house legal services to non-profit agencies serving children and families in Palm Beach County. There is an annual fee for this service.
Pro Bono Project
This project provides free legal assistance through private attorneys to eligible Legal Aid clients whose cases cannot be handled by in-house staff due to conflicts of interest or because staff do not have expertise in those areas of law. Over 2,500 private attorneys in Palm Beach County currently participate in this program.
Bioethics Law Project
The Bioethics Law Project began as a pilot project designed by Palm Beach County, Florida nurse-attorney, Marnie R. Poncy, as a local response to a problem identified in a national study regarding end of life care. The program provides education, outreach, crises intervention, legal advocacy, direct patient care and resource referrals to the community at large. The project has been generously funded by a grant from the Quantum Foundation.
