Family Law Project
This project provides services to financially eligible clients (between 125% and 150% of federal poverty guidelines) in dissolution of marriage (divorce) matters to victims of domestic violence where child custody is at issue or in other family law matters where child custody or visitation is at issue.
Domestic Violence Project
This project provides representation for victims of abuse or domestic violence at restraining order extension hearings advocating for child custody and support, where applicable. Representation will also be provided in divorce matters, where appropriate.
Family Law Self-Service Clinic
A Legal Aid staff attorney and paralegal based in the Palm Beach County Courthouse in downtown West Palm Beach provide technical advice and/or assistance to pro se litigants (those representing themselves) at the court's Family Law Self-Service Center. The Legal Aid staff attorney does outreach at the South and West County Courthouses. PLEASE NOTE: The court charges a small fee for this service.
Elder Law Project
This project provides legal assistance to individuals over 60 years of age who have been the victims of abuse and exploitation by relatives, merchants or others. In addition, the project handles Social Security, Medicare and housing matters and provides special assistance to grandparents raising grandchildren. The project staff is available for presentations on legal issues affecting the elderly.
Public Guardianship Project
This project provides a full range of guardianship and legal services to indigent, adjudicated incapacitated elders who are without family or friends care for or assist them. The project’s goal is to enhance the quality of life for these persons while respecting their personal dignity and right to self-determination.
