Legal Aid of Palm Beach County Launches Pro Bono Mediation Project

West Palm Beach, FL — The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County in collaboration with Alternative Resolution Consultants (ARC), has recently established a Pro Bono Mediation Project. Through this innovative program, ARC will provide mediators free of charge to Legal Aid clients who agree to mediate their disputes.

Launched in April, 2003, the project was conceived by attorneys Robin Rosenberg and Pamela Moody the founders of ARC in order to provide alternative strategies to litigation to Palm Beach County's disadvantaged community. The project has already successfully mediated one case and a second mediation is currently scheduled. The ultimate goal of this pre-suit intervention program is to divert cases from the already over worked county court and pro bono systems.

The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Inc., founded in 1949, is a private nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to providing free legal services to disadvantaged children, families, elders and individuals living in Palm Beach County. Projects include the Domestic Violence Project, Juvenile Advocacy Project, Foster Children's Project, Ryan White Project, Fair Housing Project and Elder Law Project.
