Zucaros Host Gift Gathering Gala for Legal Aid Society
West Palm Beach, FL (April 4, 2002) On March 9, 2002, West Palm Beach City Commissioner Al Zucaro and his wife, Maria Bello Zucaro, hosted a Gift Gathering Gala at their home to benefit the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County's 14th Annual Pro Bono Recognition Evening.
The gala was attended by over 125 business and legal professionals and netted Legal Aid over 75 gifts to for its silent auction, one of a number of activities taking place at the "Broadway" themed event on Saturday evening, May 11, 2002 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown West Palm Beach. The event, Legal Aid's major annual fundraiser, honors the hard work and dedication of attorneys, law firms and lay individuals throughout Palm Beach County who provide their services pro bono (for free) to many of the county's underprivileged children, seniors and families in our community.Ý
Awards are given to those individuals and firms who provide outstanding service to those whom Legal Aid serves and all proceeds from the event enable Legal Aid's staff of 74 to continue its fifty-three year tradition of "providing high quality civil legal advice, representation and education to the disadvantaged of Palm Beach County" in an effort to improve the lives of at least the 6,000 clients it serves annually.
Founded in 1949, the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Inc. is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the cause of providing equal access to the justice system for all of Palm Beach County's underprivileged residents.
