Women Lawyers Association Hosts Event for Legal Aid Society

On November 14, 2003, the doors of Barnes and Noble at City Place opened to welcome over 80 members of the Palm Beach Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers who were busy gathering gifts for the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County's silent auction to be held on Saturday evening, May 15, 2004 as part of the 16th Annual Pro Bono Recognition Evening. In addition, monies were raised for Legal Aid's Children's Fund. Guests purchased and donated over 200 books, toys and games for the Pro Bono Night Silent Auction and raised over $500 for the Children's Fund. The fund provides medicine, clothing and school supplies to the disadvantaged children in our community.

A wonderful luncheon was provided courtesy of Kennedy and Associates, P.L. and Ward, Damon & Posner, P.A. Celebrity shoppers, Channel 5 Anchor, Chandra Bill, Palm Beach County School Board Member Paulette Burdick, Palm Beach County Public Defender Carey Haughwout, County Attorney, Denise Niemand and Palm Beach Post "Notables" Editor, Amy Woods helped shoppers pick out their gifts.
