A Bittersweet Goodbye...
Senior paralegal Alison St. John recently said farewell to Legal Aid after 23 years of dedicated service in family law, as an integral part of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Project and as our main advocate for Social Security and Supplemental Security benefits. In the last 15 years, Alison has secured more than $2 million in disability benefits for Legal Aid's clients.
But Alison did more than say goodbye to Legal Aid, she left our shores to try life on the other side of the Atlantic. Alison and her husband Kai Johnson will be spending the next 3 years in Wurzberg, Germany where Kai is working as an adolescent drug and alcohol counselor at the Reinsdorf Air Force Base.
Alison is learning German, working in the JAG office for the army as a Tax Preparer, and hopes to volunteer for the Red Cross. We will miss Alison and wish her the best of luck!
