Legal Aid's 7th Annual Cup of Justice Golf Classic Raises $31,000 to Advocate for Disabled Children in Palm Beach County Schools

Palm Beach Gardens, FL - - The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County's 7th Annual Cup of Justice Golf Classic raised $31,000 to support its Educational Empowerment Initiative. The program works to ensure positive educational outcomes for disabled children attending Palm Beach County's lower performing schools. Attorney Robert Shalhoub chaired the October 8th tournament at Ballen Isles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens. The Related Companies and Crocker Partners, the co-developers of the new City Place Tower office building were presenting sponsors of the event. Additionally, Merrill Lynch and Florida Crystals Corporation were respectively lunch and dinner sponsors of the tournament. The golf classic committee members included Harreen Bertisch; Rick Collier, Georgene Eisenberg, Suzanne Foley, Judith Hertan; David McClymont; Scott Murray; Linda Norris; Grier Pressly; Heath Randolph; Michael Spillane; Vicky Vilchez and Bob Bertisch.
The Babbitt, Johnson, Osborne & LeClainche Team comprised of John Baleno, Billy Conner, Perry Sakellson and Lenny Silvestri was awarded the “Cup of Justice” for the year. Other winners included Schwed, McGinley & Kahle (Flight 1-First Place); Babbitt, Johnson, Osborne and LeClainche (Flight 2-First Place); Eisenberg, Abramson & Cohen (Flight 3-First Place); Rutherford Mulhall (Flight 1-Second Place); Team Jane and Michael Walsh (Flight 2-Second Place); Wood Business Products (Flight 3-Second Place).
 

 
The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Inc., founded in 1949, is a private nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to providing free legal services to disadvantaged children, families, elders and individuals living in Palm Beach County. Projects include the Domestic Violence Project, Juvenile Advocacy Project, Foster Children's Project, Ryan White Project, Fair Housing Project and Elder Law Project.
